AN ACT to amend the general business law, in relation to requiring all
cellular telecommunications service providers with new cellular anten-
na towers to secure on-site back-up power
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. The general business law is amended by adding a new section
2 390-d to read as follows:
3 § 390-d. On-site back-up power source required for new cellular anten-
4 na towers. On or before January first, two thousand sixteen, each cellu-
5 lar telecommunications service provider with a new cellular antenna
6 tower shall equip such tower with on-site back-up power capable of
7 providing electrical power continuously for a minimum of seventy-two
8 hours to be used during a power failure.
9 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
