        AN  ACT  to  amend  the mental hygiene law, in relation to the statewide
          goals and objectives of  the  offices  of  the  department  of  mental
          hygiene
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. Subparagraph e of paragraph 1 of subdivision (a) of section
     2  5.07 of the mental hygiene law, as amended by chapter 223 of the laws of
     3  1992, is amended to read as follows:
     4    e. emphasize that gaps in services be identified and filled, and  that
     5  services are provided to the multiply disabled.
     6    §  2.    Subparagraphs  i  and  j of paragraph 2 of subdivision (b) of
     7  section 5.07 of the mental hygiene law, subparagraph i  as  amended  and
     8  subparagraph j as added by section 1 of part E of chapter 58 of the laws
     9  of 2007, are amended to read as follows:

    10    i.   a review and evaluation of an implemented or planned shift and/or
    11  increase in medical assistance funding for services;
    12    j. to the extent practicable, all such information  required  pursuant
    13  to  this  paragraph shall be provided on a statewide, regional and indi-
    14  vidual state-operated hospital  and  state-operated  research  institute
    15  basis; and
    16    [j.]  k.  recommendations  on  the provision of state and local mental
    17  health services based on the development of best practices  by  programs
    18  promoting   culturally   and   linguistically  competent  mental  health
    19  services.
    20    § 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
