        AN  ACT  to  amend  the  education law, in relation to practical nursing
          training at private schools
 

          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section  1.  Subdivision  4  of  section  6507 of the education law is
     2  amended by adding a new paragraph a-1 to read as follows:
     3    a-1. Register or  approve  programs  of  study  in  practical  nursing
     4  offered  at private schools licensed pursuant to article one hundred one
     5  of this chapter. The programs shall be registered  or  approved  by  the
     6  office  of the professions, and all other provisions of such article one
     7  hundred one of this  chapter  shall  apply  to  the  schools  and  these
     8  programs,  except  those concerning curriculum approval and requirements
     9  for teacher licensing that are subject to approval by the office of  the
    10  professions.

    11    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
