        AN ACT to amend the public authorities law, in relation to the implemen-
          tation of a free fare program within the  metropolitan  transportation
          authority for children ages six years old or less
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. The public authorities law  is  amended  by  adding  a  new
     2  section 1266-1 to read as follows:
     3    §  1266-1.  Free fare program.  Notwithstanding any other provision of
     4  law, the authority and any of its subsidiary corporations  shall  estab-
     5  lish  and  implement a free fare program for children ages six years old
     6  or less. The free fare program established and implemented  pursuant  to
     7  this  section  shall  be  in  operation  during  all hours in which such
     8  authority provides railroad, subway and/or omnibus  services,  and  such
     9  program  shall  not  be limited in operation to off-peak hours or to any
    10  other hours designated by the authority or its subsidiary corporations.
    11    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
