        Introduced  by M. of A. SMULLEN -- read once and referred to the Commit-
          tee on Governmental Operations
 
        AN ACT to amend the state law, in relation to designating the  Langhein-
          rich Fossil Quarry as the home of the New York state fossil
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. Section 83 of the state law, as added by chapter 279 of the
     2  laws of 1984, is amended to read as follows:
     3    § 83. State fossil. The  Eurypterus  remipes  shall  be  the  official
     4  fossil  of  the  state  of  New York, and the Langheinrich Fossil Quarry
     5  shall be the official home of the New York state fossil.
     6    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
