        Introduced by M. of A. ARDILA -- read once and referred to the Committee
          on Energy
 
        AN ACT to amend the public service law, in relation to requiring gas and
          electric corporations to provide sixty days' notice to customers when-
          ever there is a service rate or charge increase

          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. Subdivision 12 of section 66 of the public service  law  is
     2  amended by adding a new paragraph (l) to read as follows:
     3    (l)  In  addition  to  any other requirements regarding an increase in
     4  rates or charges imposed by this section, the commission  shall  require
     5  all  gas  and  electric  corporations  to  provide  at least sixty days'
     6  notice, in writing,  to  each  customer  which  such  service  is  being
     7  provided  to, indicating to such customer that a rate or charge increase
     8  for services will take effect.
     9    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
