        AN ACT to amend the alcoholic beverage control law, in  relation  to  an
          exception  to  revocation  of  licenses  where a licensee or permittee

          cooperates in any action taken against an agent or employee  knowingly
          serving illegal alcoholic beverages
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1.  Paragraph (a) of subdivision 1 of section 118 of the alco-
     2  holic beverage control law, as amended by chapter 536  of  the  laws  of
     3  1996, is amended to read as follows:
     4    (a) Conviction of the licensee, permittee or his agent or employee for
     5  selling any illegal alcoholic beverages on the premises licensed, except
     6  where  a  licensee or permittee willingly reports to the police an agent
     7  or employee who has been observed knowingly  selling  illegal  alcoholic
     8  beverages  on  the  premises  licensed and such licensee or permittee is

     9  willing to cooperate in any action taken against the agent or employee.
    10    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
