AN ACT to amend the cannabis law, in relation to requiring the develop-
ment and implementation of a comprehensive education campaign on the
dangers of cannabinoid use
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. Section 19 of the cannabis law is amended to read as
2 follows:
3 § 19. Public health and education campaign. The office, in consulta-
4 tion with the commissioners of the department of health, office of
5 addiction services and supports, and office of mental health, shall
6 develop and implement a comprehensive public health monitoring, surveil-
7 lance and education campaign regarding the legalization of adult-use
8 cannabis and the impact of cannabis use on public health and safety.
9 The office, in consultation with the office of addiction services and
10 supports and office of mental health, shall develop and implement a
11 comprehensive education campaign regarding the dangers of cannabinoid
12 use. The public health and education campaign shall also include general
13 education to the public about the cannabis law.
14 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
