        AN ACT to amend the social services law, in relation to requiring commu-
          nity advisory boards for homeless facilities in cities  with  a  popu-
          lation of one million or more
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. Section 50 of the social services law is amended by  adding
     2  a new subdivision 2-a to read as follows:
     3    2-a.  Beginning  in  two thousand eighteen in cities with a population
     4  over one million, the city's department  of  social  services  or  other
     5  entity  designated by the mayor of each city shall establish a community
     6  advisory board for each facility primarily serving homeless  individuals
     7  operated  by  such  city  or contracted to be operated by such city. The
     8  community advisory board shall be constituted of  businesses  and  resi-
     9  dents  of  the  local community and residents or users of the particular
    10  facility as well as other interested parties and shall be established by
    11  regulation of the city's department of social services or  other  desig-
    12  nated  agency  of the city and be subject to article seven of the public
    13  officers law.
    14    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
