AN ACT to amend the legislative law, in relation to requiring that all
members of the senate and assembly have a minimum number of bills
brought to the chamber floor for consideration and vote every legisla-
tive session calendar year
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. The legislative law is amended by adding a new section 5-b
2 to read as follows:
3 § 5-b. Floor votes on legislation. Each member of the senate and
4 assembly shall have a minimum of five bills, not including any budget or
5 appropriation bills, brought to the floor for a vote every legislative
6 session calendar year. No bill may be held in committee indefinitely to
7 circumvent the requirements of this section.
8 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
