Go to top STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 5696 2015-2016 Regular Sessions IN ASSEMBLY March 3, 2015 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. KAVANAGH -- read once and referred to the Commit- tee on Education AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation to scheduling school lunch periods The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Section 813 of the education law, as added by chapter 296 2 of the laws of 1994, is amended to read as follows: 3 § 813. School lunch period; scheduling. Each school shall schedule [a4reasonable time] times for students to consume lunch that begin no 5 earlier than two and one-half hours and no later than four hours after 6 the start of the school day for each full day pupil attending pre-kin- 7 dergarten through grade twelve [to consume lunch]. 8 § 2. This act shall take effect on the first of August occurring in 9 the year two years after which this act becomes a law.
