Go to top STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 5856 2013-2014 Regular Sessions IN ASSEMBLY March 7, 2013 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. WRIGHT -- read once and referred to the Committee on Tourism, Parks, Arts and Sports Development AN ACT to amend the parks, recreation and historic preservation law, in relation to establishing the Heights Heritage Area; and to repeal provisions of such law relating thereto The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Paragraph (r) of subdivision 1 of section 35.03 of the 2 parks, recreation and historic preservation law is REPEALED and a new 3 paragraph (r) is added to read as follows: 4 (r) The Heights heritage area encompassing the cohesive geographic 5 area of west Harlem within the city of New York, including a southerly 6 boundary of one hundred twenty-second street, a northerly boundary of 7 two hundred eighteenth street, an easterly boundary of Highbridge Park 8 and tenth avenue, and a westerly boundary of the appropriate riverside 9 portions along the Hudson River, associated and revealing the historic 10 development of maritime history, military war history and the northern 11 Manhattan migration. 12 § 2.
