          once  and  referred  to  the Committee on Health -- recommitted to the
          Committee on Health in accordance with Assembly  Rule  3,  sec.  2  --
          committee  discharged,  bill amended, ordered reprinted as amended and
          recommitted to said committee
 
        AN ACT to amend the social services law,  in  relation  to  establishing
          topical oxygen wound therapy as a Medicaid benefit
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. Subdivision 2 of section 365-a of the social  services  law
     2  is amended by adding a new paragraph (dd) to read as follows:
     3    (dd)  topical  oxygen  wound  therapy for chronic wound management and
     4  treatment, as prescribed by a physician or other  qualified  prescriber,
     5  through  use  of  a  United  States Food and Drug Administration cleared
     6  topical oxygen chamber for extremities, consistent with coverage  crite-
     7  ria established by the commissioner.
     8    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
