AN ACT to amend chapter 397 of the laws of 1996, relating to authorizing
the town of Islip to lease certain lands to a business corporation, in
relation to the lease term
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. Subdivision (a) of section 1 of chapter 397 of the laws of
2 1996, relating to authorizing the town of Islip to lease certain lands
3 to a business corporation, is amended to read as follows:
4 (a) [Notwithstanding the provisions of any other general, special or
5 local law, rule or regulation to the contrary, the town of Islip, in the
6 county of Suffolk, is hereby authorized and empowered to lease the lands
7 hereinafter described for up to thirty years, to a business corporation
8 for such consideration for fair market value and upon such terms, condi-

1 tions and provisions as the town board in its discretion may deem prop-
2 er.] The town of Islip, in the county of Suffolk, is hereby authorized
3 and empowered to extend the terms of a lease between the town and a
4 business corporation dated July 30, 1996 that was authorized by chapter
5 397 of the laws of 1996 on the lands described in chapter 397 of the
6 laws of 1996 for up to ten additional years from the date of its expira-
7 tion.
8 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
