        AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation to approval of  contracts
          with superintendents of schools
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1.  Section 1711 of the education law is amended by  adding  a
     2  new subdivision 3-a to read as follows:
     3    3-a. Any contract, amendment thereto, contract extension, or agreement
     4  of  any  kind with a superintendent for salary, compensation or benefits
     5  entered into during  the  period  between  the  annual  meeting  of  the
     6  district  and the subsequent organizational meeting shall be approved by
     7  a two-thirds majority of such board.
     8    § 2. Section 2507 of the education law is  amended  by  adding  a  new
     9  subdivision 1-a to read as follows:
    10    1-a. Any contract, amendment thereto, contract extension, or agreement
    11  of  any  kind with a superintendent for salary, compensation or benefits
    12  entered into during  the  period  between  the  annual  meeting  of  the
    13  district  and the subsequent organizational meeting shall be approved by
    14  a two-thirds majority of such board.
    15    § 3. This act shall take effect on the sixtieth  day  after  it  shall
    16  have become a law.
