        Introduced by M. of A. CROUCH -- read once and referred to the Committee
          on Transportation
 
        AN ACT to amend the vehicle and traffic law, in relation to removing the
          cap on emission inspection facilities in a county
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section 1. Subdivision (a) of section 303 of the vehicle  and  traffic
     2  law is amended by adding a new paragraph 4 to read as follows:
     3    (4)  The commissioner shall not limit the maximum number of inspection
     4  station licenses, public official emissions inspection station licenses,
     5  or certificates to inspect vehicles issued within a county.
     6    § 2. This act shall take effect on the ninetieth day  after  it  shall
     7  have become a law. Effective immediately, the addition, amendment and/or
     8  repeal  of  any  rule  or regulation necessary for the implementation of
     9  this act on its effective date are authorized and directed  to  be  made
    10  and completed on or before such effective date.
