AN ACT to authorize the Manhasset union free school district and Manhas-
set public library to take certain actions to correct an understate-
ment in the certification of the 2020-2021 tax levy of the such
library
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, the
2 Manhasset union free school district is hereby authorized and empowered
3 to take any and all actions necessary and required to: (a) include in
4 its certification of the amount of taxes required to be levied to
5 support the approved fiscal year 2021-2022 budget of the Manhasset
6 public library the additional sum of $1,022,625 that, but for a clerical
7 error in the amount certified to be levied for fiscal year 2020-2021,
8 should have been levied in fiscal year 2020-2021 to support the approved
9 fiscal year 2020-2021 budget of the Manhasset public library, which
10 resulted in a fiscal year 2020-2021 tax levy of the Manhasset public
11 library in the amount of $5,403,412, inclusive of said understatement;
12 (b) to pay the amount of the full operating budget and debt service due
13 in fiscal year 2020-2021 to or on behalf of the Manhasset public library
14 in the total amount of $5,403,412, inclusive of said understatement; and
15 (c) retain as reimbursement from the taxes to be levied and collected in
16 fiscal year 2021-2022 an amount equal to said understatement.
17 § 2. Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, for fiscal
18 year 2021-2022 the Manhasset public library is hereby authorized and
19 empowered to calculate and reflect for all purposes its tax levy limit,
20 as such term is defined in section 3-c of the general municipal law,
21 based upon its authorized fiscal year 2020-2021 tax levy of $5,403,412,
22 which authorized fiscal year 2020-2021 tax levy is inclusive of the
23 amount of said understatement; and for fiscal year 2022-2023 the Manhas-

1 set public library is hereby authorized and empowered to calculate and
2 reflect for all purposes its tax levy limit, as such term is defined in
3 section 3-c of the general municipal law, based upon its authorized
4 fiscal year 2021-2022 tax levy, which authorized fiscal year 2021-2022
5 tax levy is to be exclusive of the amount of said understatement.
6 § 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
