AN ACT to amend the highway law, in relation to designating a portion of
the state highway system as the "Charles 'Chuck' Kelly Memorial High-
way"
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. The highway law is amended by adding a new section 344-k to
2 read as follows:
3 § 344-k. Portion of the state highway system to be designated as the
4 "Charles 'Chuck' Kelly Memorial Highway". All that portion of the state
5 highway system constituting state route thirty-seven from the inter-
6 section of state route thirty-seven and New York Avenue to the inter-
7 section of state route thirty-seven and county route twenty-eight in the
8 town of Lisbon, shall be designated and known as the "Charles 'Chuck'
9 Kelly Memorial Highway".
10 § 2. The commissioner of transportation shall provide for the instal-
11 lation and maintenance of adequate signing of the state highway system
12 as designated pursuant to section one of this act. However, to avoid
13 confusion and to limit any possible disruption of commerce, the desig-
14 nation called for pursuant to section one of this act shall be one of
15 ceremonial nature and the official name of such highway shall not be
16 changed as a result of this act.
17 § 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
