        Introduced by M. of A. TENNEY -- read once and referred to the Committee
          on Transportation
 
        AN  ACT  to  amend  the  highway  law,  in  relation to permitting small
          seasonal farmers to place signs near state highways
 
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 

     1    Section  1.  The highway law is amended by adding a new section 331 to
     2  read as follows:
     3    § 331. Seasonal farm signs.  Small  seasonal  farmers  may,  upon  the
     4  request  of  the  appropriate  authority,  place, cause to be placed, or
     5  permit to be placed signs beyond six hundred sixty  feet  outside  urban
     6  areas  and erected with the purpose of their message indicating seasonal
     7  farms. Such signage shall be subject to the  rules  and  regulations  as
     8  provided by the commissioner.
     9    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
