        Introduced by M. of A. WRIGHT -- read once and referred to the Committee
          on Election Law
 
        AN  ACT  to  amend chapter 92 of the laws of 2001, amending the election
          law relating to the election ballot and canvassing write-in votes,  in
          relation to extending the expiration of the provisions of such chapter
 

          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. Section 3 of chapter 92 of the laws of 2001,  amending  the
     2  election  law  relating  to  the election ballot and canvassing write-in
     3  votes, as amended by chapter 187 of the laws of 2008, is amended to read
     4  as follows:
     5    § 3. This act shall take effect immediately; provided,  however,  that
     6  the  amendments  to sections 7-114 and 9-102 of the election law made by
     7  sections one and two of this act shall expire and be deemed repealed [8]
     8  9 years after the effective date of this act when  upon  such  date  the
     9  provisions  of such sections shall revert and be read as such provisions
    10  existed on the date immediately preceding the  effective  date  of  this
    11  act.
    12    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
