Go to top STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 7065 2023-2024 Regular Sessions IN ASSEMBLY May 10, 2023 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. BUTTENSCHON -- read once and referred to the Committee on Codes AN ACT to amend the criminal procedure law, in relation to removing the requirement that willful failure to appear after notice of scheduled appearances be persistent in order to revoke an order granting liberty to a defendant and to fix bail in such action or proceeding The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Subparagraph (i) of paragraph (b) of subdivision 2 of 2 section 530.60 of the criminal procedure law, as added by section 20 of 3 part JJJ of chapter 59 of the laws of 2019, is amended to read as 4 follows: 5 (i) [persistently and] willfully failed to appear after notice of 6 scheduled appearances in the case before the court; or 7 § 2. This act shall take effect on the first of November next succeed- 8 ing the date upon which it shall have become a law.
