AN ACT authorizing the town of Thompson, Sullivan county, to establish a
road improvement district
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. The town of Thompson, in the county of Sullivan, is hereby
2 authorized to establish a special road improvement district pursuant to
3 articles 12 and 12-A of the town law. Such road improvement district
4 shall be established, funded, operated and otherwise controlled by the
5 provisions of articles 12 and 12-A of the town law and the provisions of
6 this act. To the extent that the provisions of this act shall in any
7 way be in conflict with articles 12 and 12-A of the town law, the
8 provisions of this act shall be controlling.
9 § 2. The purpose of the road improvement district shall be to provide
10 for the repair, reconstruction and maintenance of roads and related
11 appurtenances within and around the Adelaar development area to ensure
12 certain upgrades, improvements and repairs are made pursuant to certain
13 development criteria established by the town of Thompson. Any such
14 development criteria, construction or reconstruction and subsequent
15 maintenance thereof shall be subject to and in accordance with applica-
16 ble provisions of the highway law, procedures established by the New
17 York state department of transportation and the consents of the New York
18 state department of transportation, where applicable.
19 § 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
