AN ACT to amend the public health law, in relation to requiring external
defibrillator in nursing homes
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. The public health law is amended by adding a new section
2 2808-e to read as follows:
3 § 2808-e. External defibrillator in nursing homes. The commissioner
4 shall, from funds already available, provide each nursing home regulated
5 by said commissioner with an external defibrillator. Nursing homes may,
6 at their discretion and expense, acquire additional defibrillators as
7 are deemed necessary.
8 § 2. This act shall take effect on the sixtieth day after it shall
9 have become a law.
