        Introduced  by  M. of A. STECK, FAHY, WOERNER, McDONALD -- read once and
          referred to the Committee on Governmental Employees -- recommitted  to
          the  Committee  on  Governmental Employees in accordance with Assembly
          Rule  3,  sec.  2  --  committee  discharged,  bill  amended,  ordered
          reprinted as amended and recommitted to said committee

        AN ACT to authorize Kathleen M. Dalton to have maternity leave deemed as
          benefits eligible service for retiree health insurance purposes
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. Notwithstanding any other provisions of law to the  contra-
     2  ry,  Kathleen  M.  Dalton,  a  member  of  the New York state employees'
     3  retirement system, employed from April 16, 1987 until June 12, 1997  and
     4  who took maternity leave from November 25, 1992 until February 11, 1993,
     5  shall be entitled to have such maternity leave deemed as benefits eligi-
     6  ble  service for retiree health insurance purposes, provided she files a
     7  written request to that effect with  the  department  of  civil  service
     8  within 90 days of the effective date of this act.
     9    §  2.  This  act  shall take effect immediately and shall be deemed to
    10  have been in full force and effect on and after December 31, 2015.
