        Introduced  by M. of A. BOYLAND -- read once and referred to the Commit-
          tee on Cities
 
        AN ACT to amend the administrative code of the  city  of  New  York,  in
          relation  to lowering the eligibility age for the reduced fare transit
          program
 
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-

        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section  1. Subdivision a of section 19-401 of the administrative code
     2  of the city of New York is amended to read as follows:
     3    a. The board of estimate shall have the power, pursuant to section one
     4  hundred nineteen-r of  the  general  municipal  law,  to  enter  into  a
     5  contract  or  contracts  with any person, firm or corporation owning and
     6  operating a mass transportation facility within the  city  in  order  to
     7  provide transportation at a reduced fare during specified days and hours
     8  for  eligible  residents of the city who are over [sixty-five] sixty-two
     9  years of age and not fully employed.
    10    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
