        AN ACT to amend the administrative code of the  city  of  New  York,  in
          relation to the towing of vehicles for unpaid fines
 

          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. The administrative code of the city of New York is  amended
     2  by adding a new section 19-214 to read as follows:
     3    §  19-214  Towing  of  vehicles  for unpaid fines. Notwithstanding any
     4  other provision of law, a vehicle shall not be  towed  as  a  result  of
     5  unpaid  parking  fines unless such fines amount to at least five hundred
     6  dollars.
     7    § 2. This act shall take effect on the thirtieth day  after  it  shall
     8  have become a law.
