        AN  ACT  to  amend the social services law, in relation to level two and
          level three sex offenders
 
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section  1. The social services law is amended by adding a new section
     2  131-y to read as follows:
     3    § 131-y.  Placement  of  level  two  or  level  three  sex  offenders.
     4  Notwithstanding any inconsistent provision of law, neither the office of
     5  children  and  family services, nor a social services official acting on
     6  his or her own or as an agent pursuant to section  one  hundred  thirty-
     7  eight-a  of  this  title, shall permit or cause the placement of any sex
     8  offender who has been assigned a level two or  level  three  designation
     9  pursuant  to  article  six-C  of  the correction law, into any temporary
    10  emergency housing or homeless shelters used to house families with chil-
    11  dren.
    12    § 2. This act shall take effect on the thirtieth day  after  it  shall
    13  have become a law.
