Go to top STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 8278 2015-2016 Regular Sessions IN ASSEMBLY June 17, 2015 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. SALADINO -- read once and referred to the Commit- tee on Social Services AN ACT to amend the social services law, in relation to level two and level three sex offenders The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. The social services law is amended by adding a new section 2 131-y to read as follows: 3 § 131-y. Placement of level two or level three sex offenders. 4 Notwithstanding any inconsistent provision of law, neither the office of 5 children and family services, nor a social services official acting on 6 his or her own or as an agent pursuant to section one hundred thirty- 7 eight-a of this title, shall permit or cause the placement of any sex 8 offender who has been assigned a level two or level three designation 9 pursuant to article six-C of the correction law, into any temporary 10 emergency housing or homeless shelters used to house families with chil- 11 dren. 12 § 2.
