          on Veterans' Affairs
 
        AN ACT to amend the real property tax law, in relation to establishing a
          real property tax exemption  for  veterans  who  have  a  one  hundred
          percent service connected disability

          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. Section 458 of the real property  tax  law  is  amended  by
     2  adding a new subdivision 3-a to read as follows:
     3    3-a.  Real  property owned by a disabled veteran who has a one hundred
     4  percent service connected disability shall be deemed fully  exempt  from
     5  taxation  of  such  property  for  city, village, town, county or school
     6  district purposes, provided that the governing body of a city,  village,
     7  town,  county or school district, after a public hearing, adopts a local
     8  law, ordinance or resolution providing therefor.
     9    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
