AN ACT to amend chapter 243 of the laws of 2004, authorizing the commis-
sioner of general services to sell and convey certain state lands in
the borough and county of Bronx to be used for housing and shelter for
the homeless in New York city, in relation to authorizing such lands
to be used for housing and sheltering destitute, refugee, delinquent
and/or disabled persons
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. Sections 1 and 5 of chapter 243 of the laws of 2004,
2 authorizing the commissioner of general services to sell and convey
3 certain state lands in the borough and county of Bronx to be used for
4 housing and shelter for the homeless in New York city, are amended to
5 read as follows:
6 Section 1. The commissioner of general services in the executive
7 department is hereby authorized and empowered to sell, convey and trans-
8 fer to Catholic Home Bureau, a not-for-profit corporation organized and
9 existing under the laws of the state of New York, located at 2322 Valen-
10 tine Avenue, Bronx, New York including lands and improvements thereon
11 generally bounded and described in section two of this act, for the
12 purposes of providing housing and shelter for homeless, destitute, refu-
13 gee, delinquent and/or disabled persons in New York city.
14 § 5. Any lands including improvements thereon conveyed pursuant to
15 this act shall be used exclusively for the purposes of providing housing
16 and shelter for homeless, destitute, refugee, delinquent and/or disabled
17 persons in New York city. Upon termination of such use, title to the
18 lands so transferred shall revert to the state of New York.
19 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
