Directs the departments of health and environmental conservation to establish a statewide web listing of drug disposal sites, events and other disposal options in the state, which shall be searchable by zip code; such web listing shall allow the entry of such information by sponsors thereof.

AN ACT to amend the public health law, in relation to a statewide list-
ing of drug disposal sites and events
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. The public health law is amended by added a new section
2 3343-c to read as follows:
3 § 3343-c. Drug disposal sites and events; statewide listings. The
4 department, in consultation with the department of environmental conser-
5 vation shall create, maintain and update regularly, a statewide web-
6 based listing of all controlled substance and other prescription drug
7 disposal sites, events, and other disposal options, available for
8 consumers, including those provided by pharmacies, manufacturers, whole-
9 salers, law enforcement agencies, local governments and other entities.
10 Such web-based listing shall at a minimum be available on both the
11 department's and the department of environmental conversation's
12 websites, and shall enable consumers to search for drug disposal options
13 by zip code. It shall also enable pharmacies, manufacturers, whole-
14 salers, law enforcement agencies, local governments and other entities
15 to submit information on disposal sites, events, and other options to be
16 included on the website listing. The department and the department of
17 environmental conservation shall also develop and publish informational
18 materials promoting the web-based listing. The web-based listing shall
19 be made available within one hundred twenty days of the effective date
20 of this section.
21 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
