        Introduced by M. of A. LIFTON -- read once and referred to the Committee
          on Environmental Conservation -- recommitted to the Committee on Envi-
          ronmental  Conservation  in accordance with Assembly Rule 3, sec. 2 --
          committee discharged, bill amended, ordered reprinted as  amended  and
          recommitted to said committee

        AN  ACT  to  amend  the  environmental  conservation law, in relation to
          authorizing hunting big game by rifle in the county of  Tompkins;  and
          providing for the repeal of such provisions upon expiration thereof
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. Paragraph a of subdivision 2  of  section  11-0907  of  the
     2  environmental  conservation  law  is amended by adding a new item (o) to
     3  read as follows:
 
     4  (o) The county of         Deer, the first          Pistol, shotgun,
     5       Tompkins             Saturday after November  crossbow, muzzle
     6                            15 through first Sunday  loading firearm,
     7                            after December 7         rifle or long bow
 
     8    § 2. Item (f) of paragraph a of subdivision 2 of  section  11-0907  of
     9  the  environmental  conservation  law, as separately amended by chapters
    10  125 and 243 of the laws of 2017, is amended to read as follows:
 
    11  (f) Southern tier,        Deer, first              Pistol, shotgun,
    12    central and Western     Monday after November    crossbow,
    13    region, except those    15 through first         muzzle loading
    14    counties or portions    Tuesday after            firearm or
    15    thereof listed in       December 7               long bow only
    16    item (i), (j), (k),
    17    (l), (m) [or], (n)
    18    or (o) of
 
         EXPLANATION--Matter in italics (underscored) is new; matter in brackets
                              [ ] is old law to be omitted.

     1    this paragraph
 
     2    §  3.  Paragraph a of subdivision 2 of section 11-0907 of the environ-
     3  mental conservation law is amended by adding a new item (m) to  read  as
     4  follows:
 
     5  (m) The county of         Deer and bear, the       Pistol, shotgun,
     6       Tompkins             first Saturday after     crossbow, muzzle
     7                            November 15 through      loading firearm,
     8                            first Sunday after       rifle or long
     9                            December 7               bow only

    10    §  4.  Item  (f) of paragraph a of subdivision 2 of section 11-0907 of
    11  the environmental conservation law, as separately  amended  by  chapters
    12  125,  133,  204,  and  243  of  the  laws of 2017, is amended to read as
    13  follows:
 
    14  (f) Southern tier,        Deer and bear, first      Pistol, shotgun,
    15    central and Western     Monday after November     crossbow, muzzle
    16    region, except those    15 through first          loading firearm
    17    counties or portions    Tuesday after             or long bow only
    18    thereof listed in       December 7
    19    item (i), (j), (j),
    20    (k) [or], (l) or (m)
    21    of this paragraph
 
    22    § 5. This act shall take effect immediately, provided that:
    23    a. the amendments to paragraph a of subdivision 2 of  section  11-0907
    24  of  the  environmental  conservation law made by section one of this act
    25  shall be subject to the  expiration  and  reversion  of  such  paragraph
    26  pursuant to section 13 of chapter 600 of the laws of 1993, as amended;
    27    b.  the  amendments  to  item  (f)  of paragraph a of subdivision 2 of
    28  section 11-0907 of the environmental conservation law  made  by  section
    29  two of this act shall be subject to the expiration and reversion of such
    30  paragraph  pursuant to section 13 of chapter 600 of the laws of 1993, as
    31  amended;
    32    c. sections three and four of this act  shall  take  effect  upon  the
    33  expiration  and  reversion  of  paragraph  a of subdivision 2 of section
    34  11-0907 of the environmental conservation law, as provided in section 13
    35  of chapter 600 of the laws of 1993, as amended; and
    36    d. nothing contained in this act shall be construed so  as  to  extend
    37  the  provisions  of this act beyond October 1, 2022, when upon such date
    38  this act shall expire and  the  provisions  contained  herein  shall  be
    39  deemed repealed.
