        AN  ACT  to amend the environmental conservation law, in relation to the
          powers and duties of the Historic Hudson-Hoosic Rivers Partnership
 
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-

        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section  1.  Subdivisions  4  and 5 of section 42-0107 of the environ-
     2  mental conservation law, as added by chapter 737 of the  laws  of  2006,
     3  are amended to read as follows:
     4    4.  To  appoint  and remove an executive officer, officers, agents and
     5  employees, and prescribe their duties and qualifications and  fix  their
     6  compensation.
     7    5.  To  contract for professional and technical assistance and advice,
     8  including retaining or employing counsel, private consultants and  inde-
     9  pendent contractors.
    10    §  2. Subdivision 13 of section 42-0107 of the environmental conserva-
    11  tion law is renumbered subdivision 16, and three new subdivisions 13, 14
    12  and 15 are added to read as follows:
    13    13. To adopt and use a seal.

    14    14. To acquire, hold and dispose of real property.
    15    15. To construct or cause to have  constructed  necessary  facilities,
    16  including  paths  and  trails,  a  visitor education center, and related
    17  parking areas within the reserve.
    18    § 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
