        Introduced  by M. of A. STERN -- read once and referred to the Committee
          on Veterans' Affairs
 
        AN ACT to amend the executive law, in relation to  establishing  a  task
          force on veteran employment opportunities
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section 1. Subdivision 1 of section 352-a of  the  executive  law,  as
     2  added by a chapter of the laws of 2021 amending the executive law relat-
     3  ing to establishing a task force on veteran employment opportunities, as
     4  proposed in legislative bills numbers S. 3638 and A. 7472, is amended to
     5  read as follows:
     6    1.  There shall be in the division a task force on veterans employment
     7  opportunities which shall consist of  the  following  [eleven]  thirteen
     8  members:  the  state director of veterans' services or his or her desig-
     9  nee, who shall serve as the chair of the task force; the commissioner of
    10  the office of general services, or his or her designee; the president of
    11  the state civil service commission, or his or her designee; the  commis-
    12  sioner  of  labor,  or his or her designee; the adjutant general for the
    13  state of New York, or his or her designee; two members appointed by  the
    14  governor, one of whom shall be a representative from the private sector;
    15  two  members  appointed by the temporary president of the senate, one of
    16  whom shall be a representative from  the  private  sector;  two  members
    17  appointed  by the speaker of the assembly, one of whom shall be a repre-
    18  sentative from the private sector; one member appointed by the  minority
    19  leader of the senate; and one member appointed by the minority leader of
    20  the assembly.
    21    §  2.  This  act  shall  take  effect on the same date and in the same
    22  manner as a chapter of the laws  of  2021  amending  the  executive  law
    23  relating  to  establishing  a  task force on veteran employment opportu-
    24  nities, as proposed in legislative bills numbers S. 3638  and  A.  7472,
    25  takes effect; provided, however, that the amendments to section 352-a of
    26  the  executive  law made by section one of this act shall not affect the
    27  repeal of such section and shall be deemed repealed therewith.
