AN ACT to authorize the reestablishment of the Middletown community
development agency
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of paragraph (b) of subdivi-
2 sion 1 of section 553 of the general municipal law or any other
3 provision of law to the contrary, the Middletown community development
4 agency, created by section 601-a of the general municipal law, shall be
5 deemed reestablished upon the filing by the governing body of the muni-
6 cipality for whose benefit such agency is reestablished the certificate
7 required by paragraph (a) of subdivision 1 of section 553 of the general
8 municipal law and shall continue in existence until termination and
9 dissolution pursuant to the provisions of paragraph (b) of subdivision 1
10 of such section; provided that, for purposes of paragraphs (a) and (b)
11 of subdivision 1 of such section, the special act of the legislature
12 referenced in such paragraphs shall be deemed to refer to this act.
13 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
