        AN ACT to amend the social services law, in relation to notification  of
          changes  to  the  model contract with managed care providers under the
          medical assistance program
 
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section  1.  Subdivision 2 of section 364-j of the social services law
     2  is amended by adding a new paragraph (d) to read as follows:
     3    (d) Whenever the commissioner of health makes changes  to  the  terms,
     4  conditions  or  time frames contained in the model contract with managed
     5  care providers in the managed care program under  this  section,  public
     6  notice  detailing  the  changes  shall  be  provided on the department's
     7  website and through publication as a public notice in the state register
     8  prior to finalizing such changes or submitting the amended  contract  to
     9  the  Centers  for  Medicare  and  Medicaid  Services  for  approval,  if
    10  required.   This public notice shall  also  apply  to  any  request  for
    11  proposals issued by the department for managed care providers to partic-
    12  ipate in the managed care program.
    13    § 2. This act shall take effect on the sixtieth day after it becomes a
    14  law;  provided,  however  that  the  amendments  to section 364-j of the
    15  social services law made by section one of this act shall not affect the
    16  repeal of such section and shall be deemed repealed therewith.
