Go to top STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 9757 IN ASSEMBLY February 10, 2020 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. HYNDMAN -- read once and referred to the Commit- tee on Housing AN ACT to authorize the commissioner of the division of housing and community renewal to prescribe certain forms in different languages The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. The commissioner of the division of housing and community 2 renewal is authorized to prescribe for legal forms and applications to 3 be translated into Spanish and any other languages as such commissioner 4 deems appropriate, as long as such language is spoken by at least one 5 percent of the population. Such commissioner shall further cause such 6 translated forms and applications to be prepared, printed and dissem- 7 inated. 8 § 2. This act shall take effect on the ninetieth day after it shall 9 have become a law. Effective immediately, the addition, amendment 10 and/or repeal of any rule or regulation necessary for the implementation 11 of this act on its effective date are authorized to be made and 12 completed on or before such effective date.
