        AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation to licensing to  practice
          acupuncture
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 

     1    Section 1. Section 8216 of the education law is amended  by  adding  a
     2  new subdivision 8 to read as follows:
     3    (8)  Any  person  who  is  licensed to practice acupuncture in another
     4  state or country may  practice  acupuncture  in  this  state  without  a
     5  license solely for the purpose of conducting clinical training, practice
     6  demonstrations  or  clinical  research  that  is  within the practice of
     7  acupuncture in connection with a program of  basic  clinical  education,
     8  graduate  education, or post-graduate education in an approved school of
     9  acupuncture or in its affiliated clinical facility or health care  agen-
    10  cy,  or  before  a group of licensed acupuncturists who are members of a
    11  professional society.
    12    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
