AN ACT in relation to legalizing, validating, ratifying and confirming
actions of the Mattituck-Cutchogue union free school district with
respect to certain building aid contracts
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. Legislative intent. The legislature hereby finds that the
2 Mattituck-Cutchogue union free school district approved several capital
3 improvement projects which were designated by the state education
4 department as project numbers 0001-001, 0007-001 and 0001-002. In addi-
5 tion, the projects were eligible for certain state aid. The legislature
6 further finds that due to ministerial error, a required filing for
7 eligibility for such aid was not made by the district in a timely manner
8 making the district ineligible for certain aid. The legislature further
9 finds that without such aid, the capital improvement projects will
10 impose an additional, unanticipated hardship on district taxpayers.
11 § 2. All the acts done and proceedings heretofore had and taken or
12 caused to be had and taken by the Mattituck-Cutchogue union free school
13 district and by all its officers or agents relating to or in connection
14 with certain final cost reports to be filed with the state education
15 department for projects 0001-001, 0007-001 and 0001-002, and all acts
16 incidental thereto are hereby legalized, validated, ratified and
17 confirmed, notwithstanding any failure to comply with the approval and
18 filing provisions of the education law or any other law or any other
19 statutory authority, rule or regulation, in relation to any omissions,
20 error, defect, irregularity or illegality in such proceedings had and
21 taken, and provided further that any amount due and payable to the

1 Mattituck-Cutchogue union free school district for school years prior to
2 the 2016--2017 school year as a result of this act shall be paid pursu-
3 ant to the provisions of paragraph c of subdivision 5 of section 3604 of
4 the education law.
5 § 3. The education department is hereby directed to consider the
6 approved costs of the aforementioned projects as valid and proper obli-
7 gations of the Mattituck-Cutchogue union free school district.
8 § 4. This act shall take effect immediately.
