        Introduced  by M. of A. McMAHON -- read once and referred to the Commit-
          tee on Labor
 
        AN ACT to amend the labor law, in relation  to  requiring  employers  to
          display  a  poster  containing  information  on veterans' benefits and
          services which shall be created and distributed by the  department  of
          labor
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1.  The labor law is amended by adding a new section 201-h  to
     2  read as follows:
     3    § 201-h. Posting of veterans' benefits and services. 1. The department
     4  shall  consult  with  the  division  of veterans' services to create and
     5  distribute a veterans' benefits and services poster.
     6    2. Such poster shall, at a minimum, include information regarding  the
     7  following services available to veterans:
     8    a.  contact  numbers  for  veterans'  resources, including contact and
     9  website information for the division of veterans' services;
    10    b. substance abuse and mental health treatment;
    11    c. educational resources;
    12    d. tax benefits;
    13    e. New York state veteran drivers' licenses;
    14    f. unemployment rights and benefits;
    15    g. legal services; and
    16    h. constituency groups such as  women's,  African  Americans',  Native
    17  Americans', and LGBTQ veterans' groups.
    18    3. Every employer in the state shall display the poster created pursu-
    19  ant  to this section in a place accessible to such employer's employees,
    20  and in a visually conspicuous manner.
    21    § 2.  This act shall take effect January 1,  2021.    Effective  imme-
    22  diately, the addition, amendment and/or repeal of any rule or regulation
    23  necessary  for  the implementation of this act on its effective date are
    24  authorized to be made and completed on or before such effective date.
