        Introduced  by  COMMITTEE  ON RULES -- (at request of M. of A. Santabar-
          bara) -- read once and referred to the Committee on Mental Health
 
        AN ACT to amend the mental hygiene law, in relation to reimbursement for
          certain costs and expenses related to the novel coronavirus, COVID-19
 
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section  1.  The mental hygiene law is amended by adding a new section
     2  13.44 to read as follows:
     3  § 13.44 Reimbursement costs and expenses related to  novel  coronavirus,
     4            COVID-19.
     5    The  office,  department  of  health  and division of the budget shall
     6  authorize voluntary providers of supports and  services  to  individuals
     7  with  intellectual  and  developmental disabilities to bill and be reim-
     8  bursed within thirty days of billing  for  novel  coronavirus,  COVID-19
     9  related  costs  and  expenses,  including, but not limited to, increased
    10  staffing and personnel costs, personal  protective  equipment  expenses,
    11  and increased residential cost.
    12    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
