AN ACT to authorize certain health care professionals licensed to prac-
tice in other jurisdictions to practice in this state in connection
with an event sanctioned by New York Road Runners; and providing for
the repeal of such provisions upon expiration thereof
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. Notwithstanding any inconsistent provision of law, any
2 person who is licensed to practice as a physician, physician's assist-
3 ant, massage therapist, physical therapist, chiropractor, dentist, opto-
4 metrist, nurse, nurse practitioner or podiatrist in another state or
5 territory, who is in good standing in such state or territory and who
6 has been appointed by the New York Road Runners to provide professional
7 services at an event in this state sanctioned by the New York Road
8 Runners, may provide such professional services to athletes and team
9 personnel registered to train at a location in this state or registered
10 to compete in an event conducted under the sanction of the New York Road
11 Runners in the state without first being licensed pursuant to the
12 provisions of title 8 of the education law. Such services shall be
13 provided only during the time period specified by the New York Road
14 Runners.
15 § 2. This act shall take effect November 1, 2010 and shall expire and
16 be deemed repealed November 30, 2011.
