HONORING Melissa Campanelli Williams upon the
occasion of her designation as recipient of the
Founder's Award by HEARTS of Port Washington on
February 10, 2023
WHEREAS, The unity of our State and Nation is built upon the
compassion of good individuals such as Melissa Campanelli Williams who
uphold the values of community life and who, through their great
actions, epitomize the best of humanity; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Melissa
Campanelli Williams upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the Founder's Award by HEARTS of Port Washington, to be celebrated at
its Annual Red Party on Friday, February 10, 2023, at Polish American
Hall, Port Washington, New York; and
WHEREAS, HEARTS (Helping Enrich the Arts) of Port Washington is an
independent, grassroots, not-for-profit community organization whose
mission is to add meaningful value to children's lives by supporting,
promoting, and enriching the arts in public schools and throughout the
Port Washington community; and
WHEREAS, Melissa Campanelli Williams is the co-founder of the Women
in Retail Leadership Circle, a members-only networking group that offers
enterprise-level women in the retail industry a place to learn, connect
and grow; she is also the brand and content director of the Retail and
Travel Group at NAPCO Media; and
WHEREAS, Prior to these esteemed positions, Melissa Campanelli
Williams spent ten years at DM News, where she first served as senior
editor and then as deputy editor; and
WHEREAS, A leading expert in small business e-commerce, Melissa
Campanelli Williams is the author of two books, Entrepreneur Magazine'sOpen an Online Business in 10 Days and 55 Surefire Internet BusinessesYou Can Start for Under $5,000; and
WHEREAS, With a steadfast and unwavering commitment to her
community, Melissa Campanelli Williams serves on the advisory boards of
Gifting Brands, the New York Fashion Tech Lab, and Intelligence Node;
and
WHEREAS, Melissa Campanelli Williams grew up in Port Washington, and
moved back to her hometown in 2015; since her return, she has devoted
her time and energies to helping several arts organizations in the
community, including the Port Summer Show where she was named
co-president in 2021, and HEARTS of Port Washington where she has been
on the Red Party committee since 2018 and volunteered with many PortFest
events; and
WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her two children, Caroline
and Christopher, both of whom feel privileged to be a part of her life
and rejoice in her many achievements; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Melissa Campanelli Williams
has displayed throughout her life; and
WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to
Melissa Campanelli Williams, that future generations may know and
appreciate her admirable character, her many benevolent deeds, and the
respect and esteem in which she is held by her peers; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Melissa Campanelli Williams upon the occasion of her designation
as recipient of the Founder's Award by HEARTS of Port Washington, and to
wish her continued success in all her future endeavors; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Melissa Campanelli Williams.
