Senate Resolution No. 490

        HONORING  Warren  County  First Assistant District
        Attorney Matthew D. Burin upon the occasion  of  his
        designation as recipient of the Robert M. Morgenthau
        Award  by  the District Attorneys Association of the
        State of New York
 
  WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to  recognize  and
pay  tribute  to  those singular individuals who devote their purposeful
lives and careers to preserving the rights and protecting the welfare of
the citizens of their community and the State of New York; and
 
  WHEREAS, The quality and character of life in Warren County is  ably
served  and  uniquely  enriched  through  the  selfless  dedication  and
benevolent concern of Matthew D. Burin; and
 
  WHEREAS, This Legislative Body  is  justly  proud  to  honor  Warren
County  First  Assistant  District  Attorney  Matthew  D. Burin upon the
occasion of his designation as recipient of  the  Robert  M.  Morgenthau
Award  by  the  District Attorneys Association of the State of New York;
and
 
  WHEREAS, The Robert M. Morgenthau Award, established in 2009 by  the
District  Attorneys  Association  of  the  State  of  New York (DAASNY),
recognizes   assistant    district    attorneys    whose    professional
accomplishments, honesty, integrity, and commitment to justice exemplify
Mr.  Morgenthau's  high  standards  during his tenure as New York County
District Attorney; and
 
  WHEREAS, This prestigious recognition truly speaks to the  ceaseless
dedication  and  hard  work  Matthew  D. Burin has put in throughout his
career as an assistant district attorney; and
 
  WHEREAS, Matthew D. Burin was selected  to  serve  as  an  assistant
district attorney by The Honorable Kathleen B. Hogan in 2005, and he has
given  tirelessly of his time and energies to the Warren County District
Attorney's Office ever since; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Furthermore,  his  commitment  to  justice   is   a   true
representation  of  the  high  standards  set  by former New York County
District Attorney Morgenthau; and
 
  WHEREAS, The trust and respect Matthew D. Burin has earned from  his
peers  is  a testament to his exceptional professionalism and unwavering
dedication to his role as assistant district attorney; he has truly made
an indelible and profound impact on his  community  in  the  pursuit  of
justice; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Throughout  a  life  and  career  of  purposeful endeavor,
Matthew D.  Burin remains true to his commitment, serving family,  faith
and community, as well as the law; his contributions and accomplishments
bring  great  benefit  and positive influence to bear upon the course of
jurisprudence and the quality of life for others; and
 
  WHEREAS, It is the practice  of  this  Legislative  Body  that  when
individuals  of  such  noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the  citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
 
  RESOLVED,  That  this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Warren County First Assistant District Attorney Matthew  D.  Burin
upon  the  occasion  of  his  designation  as recipient of the Robert M.
Morgenthau Award by the District Attorneys Association of the  State  of
New York, and to wish him continued success in all his future endeavors;
and be it further
 
  RESOLVED,  That  a  copy  of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Warren County First Assistant District  Attorney  Matthew
D.  Burin.
