COMMENDING Fleurimond Catering upon the occasion
of hosting its 20th Annual Emerald Masquerade Ball
on April 22, 2023
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize the
achievements of those individuals and businesses which substantially
contribute to the economic vitality of their communities and the entire
Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Fleurimond Catering upon the occasion of hosting its 20th Annual
Emerald Masquerade Ball on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at the Times Center
in New York, New York; and
WHEREAS, Fleurimond Catering specializes in providing the most
elegant catering and event planning services in New York City and the
Northeast; its cuisine selections include American, French, Italian,
Caribbean, and Latin; and
WHEREAS, A full-service catering company, Fleurimond Catering
provides event coordination, and decor and event planning services; they
also host many cooking parties throughout New York City, educating
individuals how to cook their delicious dishes; and
WHEREAS, Through their catering services, Fleurimond Catering offers
the ability to travel the world via an eclectic sample of delicious food
offerings; its elegant and professional event planning services provide
a caring and talented staff who will treat any event, large or small, as
the event that is most important to them; and
WHEREAS, Under the luminous direction of owner Nadege Fleurimond,
utilizing her Haitian culinary background, Fleurimond Catering pulls in
flavors from Asia, Latin America, and Europe in all of their dishes; she
has catered for several celebrities and venues including Anheuser Busch,
Paul Weiss, New York City Hall, BET, The Colbert Report, Dr. Mehmet Oz,
and Vivica Fox, just to name a few; and
WHEREAS, An author and successful entrepreneur, Nadege Fleurimond's
is the author of Haiti Uncovered and Taste of Solitude, cookbooks
highlighting the food of Haiti; and
WHEREAS, In addition to Fleurimond Catering, Nadege Fleurimond is
the owner of BunNan, a restaurant in Brooklyn, New York, which
highlights Haitian and Caribbean inspired plantain dishes; and
WHEREAS, Nadege Fleurimond has been featured on HBO's "The Big
Brunch", Conde Nast Travel, Epicurious, Ebony Magazine, Food & Wine and
many other publications; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to applaud and
support the entrepreneurs of small businesses such as Nadege Fleurimond
whose dedication and accomplishments contribute to the economic health
and vitality of the communities they serve in the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body
acknowledges this exceptional business and its contributions to the
local and State economies, fully confident that it will continue to
enjoy the sparkling successes it has experienced thus far; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Fleurimond Catering upon the occasion of hosting its 20th Annual
Emerald Masquerade Ball on April 22, 2023; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Nadege Fleurimond, Owner, Fleurimond Catering.
