CONGRATULATING Lori S. Chlad upon the occasion of
her retirement after 42 years of distinguished
service to Colgate University in Hamilton, New York
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to acknowledge
those individuals whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to
enhance the stature of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate Lori S. Chlad upon the occasion of her retirement after 42
years of distinguished service to Colgate University in Hamilton, New
York; this momentous occasion will be celebrated at a party held in her
honor on Thursday, April 27, 2023; and
WHEREAS, Lori S. Chlad began her long and distinguished career,
spanning more than four decades, at Colgate University on August 11,
1980, as secretary to the director of the Colgate entrepreneurial
development center; and
WHEREAS, In September of 1981, Lori S. Chlad moved to the human
resources department where she held various positions, including
employment services coordinator, assistant director, associate director,
and director of human resources; in November of 2012, she was promoted
to the title of Associate Vice President for Human Resources, the
position from which she will officially retire on April 30, 2023; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her tenure, Lori S. Chlad was committed to
providing support for current employees and assisting with the hiring of
new employees, who in turn, work tirelessly to provide students with one
of the best higher education experiences in the world; and
WHEREAS, For the past 42 years, Lori S. Chlad rendered faithful,
conscientious and valuable service to the personnel of Colgate
University, who truly make it a distinctive, leading American
university; and
WHEREAS, In her capacity as Associate Vice President for Human
Resources, Lori S. Chlad served with loyalty, honor and distinction; and
WHEREAS, In her official acts, Lori S. Chlad was governed by a keen
sense of duty and always showed a unique grasp of human problems; and
WHEREAS, During her tenure with Colgate University, Lori S. Chlad
earned the admiration, esteem and affection of her colleagues; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Lori S. Chlad upon the occasion of her retirement after 42
years of distinguished service to Colgate University, and to wish her
much success in all her future endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Lori S. Chlad.
