Senate Resolution No. 800

        COMMEMORATING  the  50th Anniversary of the Victor
        Farmington Volunteer Ambulance Corps
 
  WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is  proud  to  commemorate  the  50th
Anniversary  of  the Victor Farmington Volunteer Ambulance Corps, and to
honor its past and present emergency medical  services  members  for  50
years  of  service  to the citizens of Victor and Farmington, as well as
the suburbs of Rochester, New York, and its surrounding communities; and
 
  WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion will be celebrated at  a  ceremony
with the Victor Farmington Volunteer Ambulance Corps Board of Directors;
and
 
  WHEREAS,  The  Victor  Farmington  Volunteer  Ambulance  Corps  is a
dedicated emergency unit providing life-saving care and transport to the
people of the Towns of Victor, Farmington, and the surrounding Rochester
communities;  organized  in  1970,  the  Victor   Farmington   Volunteer
Ambulance  Corps was formed to preserve life and aid those in dire need;
and
 
  WHEREAS, Today, under the direction of the Board  of  Directors  and
its  President,  James  Hood, and Chief Executive Officer, Jared Palmer,
the Victor Farmington Volunteer Ambulance Corps is equipped with a fleet
of five vehicles and serves a growing population of  more  than  26,000;
and
 
  WHEREAS,  With  a  membership of dedicated volunteers, the record of
the Victor Farmington Volunteer Ambulance Corps in  public  service  and
emergency  medical services is one to be envied; for 24 hours a day, 365
days a year, for 50 years,  whenever  the  alarm  sounded,  these  noble
volunteers left their homes and went to the aid of their neighbors; and
 
  WHEREAS,  The  brave  volunteers  of the Victor Farmington Volunteer
Ambulance Corps are prepared to put their lives on  hold  every  day  to
help save the lives of others; and
 
  WHEREAS,  In  addition to the skill and devoted service demonstrated
by individual volunteers,  the  Victor  Farmington  Volunteer  Ambulance
Corps  reflects  the  history and development of ambulance and emergency
medical service over the past 50 years; and
 
  WHEREAS, This Legislative Body cannot express  sufficient  gratitude
to those devoted individuals who recognize that the preservation of life
is a sacred responsibility and who make that responsibility their own by
serving as volunteer emergency medical services providers; and
 
  WHEREAS,  It  is  the  sense of this Legislative Body that we should
give special recognition to  those  who  work  so  assiduously  for  the
betterment of their communities and acknowledge publicly the heroic good
works  performed by the volunteer ambulance workers of this great Empire
State, their officers, and auxiliaries; now, therefore, be it
 
  RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its  deliberations  to
proudly  commemorate  the  50th  Anniversary  of  the  Victor Farmington
Volunteer Ambulance Corps to be celebrated retroactive to July 2,  2020,
on October 24, 2023; and be it further
 
  RESOLVED,  That  a  copy  of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the President of the Board of Directors, James Hood,  and
Chief   Executive  Officer,  Jared  Palmer,  of  the  Victor  Farmington
Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
