Senate Resolution No. 1057

        COMMENDING  Judy  Esterquest  upon the occasion of
        her  designation  for  special  recognition  by  The
        League  of Women Voters of Port Washington-Manhasset
        on June 11, 2023
 
  WHEREAS, A great community is only as great  as  those  persons  who
provide  exemplary  service,  whether through participation in voluntary
programs, through unique personal achievement  in  their  profession  or
other endeavors, or simply through a lifetime of good citizenship; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Attendant  to  such  concern,  and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this  Legislative  Body  is  justly  proud  to
commend Judy Esterquest upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition  by The League of Women Voters of Port Washington-Manhasset;
her accomplishments will be celebrated at a brunch on Sunday,  June  11,
2023, at the Manhasset Bay Yacht Club in Port Washington, New York; and
 
  WHEREAS,  The  League  of  Women Voters is a nonpartisan, grassroots
nonprofit dedicated to empowering everyone to fully participate in  this
country's democracy; with active Leagues in all 50 states, and more than
750  Leagues  across the country, members engage in advocacy, education,
litigation, and organizing to protect every American's freedom to  vote;
and
 
  WHEREAS,  Judy  Esterquest  is  currently  an elected Trustee of the
Manhasset Public Library and has served in that capacity since 2016; she
also served several terms on the Manhasset School Community  Association
as  Treasurer  of  the  Elected  Board,  and she co-chaired the District
Committee on restructuring the grade schools; and
 
  WHEREAS, Truly caring for the members of her  community  and  State,
Judy  Esterquest  currently serves as Health Chair for the League and is
on the Health Committee for the League  of  Women  Voters  of  New  York
State, as well as the League of Women Voters of the United States Health
Care Reform network; and
 
  WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is pleased to have the opportunity to
express  its  highest  admiration  for  Judy Esterquest, and to wish her
continued success in all her future endeavors; now, therefore, be it
 
  RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its  deliberations  to
commend Judy Esterquest upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition  by The League of Women Voters of Port Washington-Manhasset;
and be it further
 
  RESOLVED, That a copy of this  Resolution,  suitably  engrossed,  be
transmitted to Judy Esterquest.
