Senate Resolution No. 1323
 
BY: Senator GAUGHRAN
 
        CONGRATULATING  Tanay Rametra upon the occasion of
        receiving the distinguished rank of Eagle Scout, the
        most prestigious of Scouting honors, on May 11, 2019
 
  WHEREAS, Tanay Rametra, through his diligence and rigorous  efforts,
has  achieved Scouting's highest and most prestigious rank, Eagle Scout;
the Eagle Court of Honor ceremony will be  held  on  Saturday,  May  11,
2019, at Antun's by Minar, Hicksville, New York; and
 
  WHEREAS,  This  extraordinary  young  man made persistent and steady
progress through the ranks to achieve this  prestigious  award  and  has
demonstrated  his  determination  to  prepare  himself for a meaningful,
productive role in society; and
 
  WHEREAS, Tanay Rametra is a member of Boy Scouts  of  America  Troop
360 of Huntington, New York; it is only with the continued diligence and
devotion  of  our  youth, tomorrow's leaders, that America will maintain
her glory; and
 
  WHEREAS, Throughout his Scouting career, Tanay Rametra has  been  an
example  for  those  who  follow  him; since age 11, he has been the Den
Chief for Pack 471's newest Scouts, guiding them toward  their  goal  of
becoming  Boy  Scouts;  by the time he turned 13, he was nominated to be
the Senior Patrol Leader of his troop, leading over 20 Scouts; and
 
  WHEREAS, As a Boy Scout, Tanay Rametra  has  earned  many  accolades
such  as  the  Order  of  the  Arrow,  where he was awarded the honor of
brotherhood which recognizes Scouts who best exemplify  the  Scout  Oath
and Law in their daily life; and
 
  WHEREAS,  In  addition  to  the  esteemed rank of Eagle Scout, Tanay
Rametra earned two Eagle Palms  which  are  awarded  through  additional
requirements of leadership and merit badges; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Currently  a  sophomore  at  John  Glen High School, Tanay
Rametra has achieved high honor roll status and holds a  position  as  a
junior board member at the Youth Board for the Town of Huntington; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Tanay  Rametra is also involved in many activities outside
of Scouting; he is a member of the Junior  Varsity  Football  Team,  the
Junior Varsity Lacrosse Team and The Varsity Wrestling Team; and
 
  WHEREAS,  America has achieved her greatest heights of glory through
the dedication, determination and tireless efforts  of  the  outstanding
citizens of this Nation; and
 
  WHEREAS,  The Boy Scouts of America and its members are dedicated to
the development of character and leadership in the youth of this Nation;
and
 
  WHEREAS, The highest achievement of leadership in  Scouting,  earned
by  approximately  five  percent of all Boy Scouts, is the distinguished
rank of Eagle Scout; and
 
 
  WHEREAS, Tanay Rametra has been involved in Scouting for many years,
has  lived up to Scouting's ideals and has attained all of the necessary
achievements, including completion of a community service project, which
was successfully planned, developed and executed; and
 
  WHEREAS, For his project, Tanay Rametra raised the  necessary  funds
to construct and install an official size Gaga Pit with a wooden gate to
benefit the youth of the Suffolk Y in Commack; and
 
  WHEREAS, Tanay Rametra's perseverance in rising through the ranks to
Eagle  Scout  is  a strong indication of his ability to master difficult
tasks; his accomplishment will enable him to emerge as a  leader,  fully
equipped to meet the challenges of today's complex society; and
 
  WHEREAS, This new Eagle Scout is a credit to his family, his school,
his community, his State and his Nation, and no doubt his future will be
filled with accomplishments of equal importance; now, therefore, be it
 
  RESOLVED,  That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations, in
recognition of the significance  of  this  meritorious  achievement,  to
congratulate  and  honor  Tanay  Rametra  on achieving the rank of Eagle
Scout; and be it further
 
  RESOLVED, That a copy of this  Resolution,  suitably  engrossed,  be
transmitted to Tanay Rametra.
