HONORING Deputy Sheriff Sheri L. Howe upon the
occasion of her retirement after more than 20 years
of distinguished service to the Chenango County
Sheriff's Office
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
honor those distinguished officers and citizens who would devote
themselves to public service, demonstrating great courage and diligence
in providing for the care and welfare of the citizens of their
communities and this great Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Within every community of the State of New York there are
certain individuals who, by virtue of their commitment and dedication,
command the respect and admiration of their community for their
exemplary contributions and service on behalf of others; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Deputy
Sheriff Sheri L. Howe upon the occasion of her retirement after more
than 20 years of distinguished service to the Chenango County Sheriff's
Office; and
WHEREAS, Sheri L. Howe began her illustrious career as a Correction
Officer with the Chenango County Sheriff's Office in 1994; she went on
to become a Deputy Sheriff in October of 1997, the esteemed position
from which she retired in June, 2016; and
WHEREAS, A true asset to her profession, Sheri L. Howe has served in
several capacities some of which include Grant Program Administrator,
SJS System Administrator, Mobile Tec System Administrator and
Instructor, as well as Safe Child ID System Administrator and County
Coordinator; and
WHEREAS, In addition, as a Child Passenger Safety Technician
Instructor, Sheri L. Howe has properly installed approximately 1,300 car
seats; and
WHEREAS, With a steadfast and unwavering commitment to her
community, Sheri L. Howe serves as Southern Tier Region Vice President
of the New York State Association of Traffic Safety Boards, Southern
Tier Regional Coordinator for the New York State Child Passenger Safety
Advisory Board, Chenango County Youth Bureau Board President, and
Chenango County Traffic Safety Board Secretary; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those
dedicated public servants who unselfishly devote their lives to the
preservation of order and the protection of others are worthy and due
full praise for their commitment and noble endeavors; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Deputy Sheriff Sheri L. Howe upon the occasion of her retirement
after more than 20 years of distinguished service to the Chenango County
Sheriff's Office; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Deputy Sheriff Sheri L. Howe.
