Senate Resolution No. 1615

        COMMENDING  Fundacion  Rica Inc. upon the occasion
        of establishing a nonprofit  philanthropic  presence
        in New York and honoring its commitment to education
        and community service
 
  WHEREAS,  The  State  of New York takes great pride in acknowledging
organizations that demonstrate unwavering commitment  to  education  and
community service; and
 
  WHEREAS,   Fundacion   Rica   Inc.,   with  a  laudable  history  of
philanthropy and community engagement, has recently  established  itself
in New York as a nonprofit organization, thereby extending its reach and
impact; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Fundacion  Rica  Inc.  has  been  a  crucial  sponsor  and
supporter  of  educational  excellence,   as   demonstrated   by   their
sponsorship   of  the  Merit  Student  event  in  New  York,  where  the
foundation, in collaboration  with  the  Dominican  Government  and  the
Consul  General  Carlos  A.  Castillo,  awarded  medals  of merit to 545
outstanding Dominican and Dominican-origin students  in  various  states
under the jurisdiction of the New York consulate; and
 
  WHEREAS,  This  event,  held annually at the Great Hall and Sheppard
Hall at City College in  Upper  Manhattan,  signifies  Fundacion  Rica's
dedication  to  recognizing  and  encouraging academic achievement among
young learners; and
 
  WHEREAS, For over 20  years,  Fundacion  Rica  Inc.  has  shown  its
commitment  to  student  merit and educational advancement, a dedication
that was highlighted during the event when Carlos Castillo  presented  a
plaque  to  Carmen Patricia Brache and Wenceslao Soto of Fundacion Rica,
acknowledging  their  continuous   support   and   contributions;   now,
therefore, be it
 
  RESOLVED,  That  this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend  Fundacion  Rica  Inc.  upon  the  occasion  of  establishing  a
nonprofit   philanthropic   presence  in  New  York  and  recognize  its
significant contributions to education and uplifting the community;  and
be it further
 
  RESOLVED,  That  a  copy  of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Fundacion Rica Inc.
